You may wonder what you’re doing here, what a downsizing doula does, how one can help you, or how to get started.
Or your curiosity could be piqued by a catchy, alliterative name and you’re putting off other tasks (like organizing your own home) by doing literally anything else—including reading a blog about home organizing.
Allow me to help demystify the process while walking you through it.
What is downsizing? For many, it sounds like:
heavy editing
throwing away
moving into a smaller home
donating personal belongings
It could involve any and all of these things, but I view downsizing as a process tailored to each individual client. My approach involves decreasing clutter, creating space, and improving the quality of relationships with stuff, other people and, ultimately, with life.
Whether you want to edit your writing, thoughts, or physical surroundings, I can help. The goal is not to arbitrarily toss away—words, ideas, belongings—but to identify what truly matters and lovingly release the obstacles keeping you from that.
What is a doula?
The dictionary definition is this: “A person trained to provide advice, information, emotional support and physical comfort to a mother before, during and just after childbirth.”
While my services do NOT include childbirth, the process is similar, except instead of birthing mothers, my clients include anyone seeking support and expertise while undergoing a transition that involves downsizing in various forms.
This process looks a little different for each person, and to meet specific needs I draw on my background and experience in an array of different professional and education fields:

Everyone has the capability to downsize their own life, but no one is meant to do it alone. Humans are inherently social and interdependent, and we rely on one another for support, self-improvement, and success. As a downsizing doula, I am motivated, trained, and temperamentally suited to do just that.
